Just north of the potato fields and east of the cranberry bogs, Great Northern Distilling sits at the gateway to the pineries of Wisconsin. These abundant lands have provided for generations of Wisconsinites.  Rafts of logs floated down the mighty Wisconsin River to the sawmills that rebuilt Chicago after the Great Fire. Paper barons built massive mills that made the glossy coated paper for LIFE Magazine in the depths of the Great Depression. Now, at Great Northern Distilling we use fresh water and abundant local produce as the foundation for our handcrafted spirits.

Great Northern’s spirits are crafted in small batches in our handmade copper still. Our process starts with sourcing the highest quality ingredients from local farmers. Whether it is potatoes for our vodka, grain for our whiskey or fruit for our brandy, we are committed to sustainable sourcing from within 150 miles of the distillery.

Watch us distill and bottle on site or join us for a tour and tasting. Take a seat at the mixology bar to enjoy a cocktail or take home a bottle to develop a libation all your own. We also offer private tours, tasting, corporate events, and bottling parties. The distillery is perfect for meetings and private parties.
